Background: At 20 I got my first job as a professional photographer in a national Rock & Roll magazine in Spain, Vibraciones. So at 20 I was a professional Rock & Roll photographer!

I came back to photography around 50-ish, did 3-4 years of fetish, commercial work, music, even church photography!

Tour: I really enjoyed the shows we did when Wynwood was Wynwood and I was part of a gallery called The Grey Area. Those were heady times.

I totally despise people who show up in your show, armed with a professional DSLR and lenses and just take pictures of my pictures. Dude… get a life.

Career: Photography is my therapy. My passion is international marketing and advertising.

I worked at head of huge media departments for 20+ years and loved it. I traveled, saw countries, dealt with thousands of interesting people, lived in many countries, learned a lot, called my own shots and got paid really well. What is there not to love!?!

Inspiration: Put it this way… if I don’t see an emotional connection, I don’t even publish the picture. To me, an emotional connection is everything.

I stopped photographing fashion and especially catwalks because there is no emotional connection. That, and when one guy told me that photographing catwalks was great because “you can be near pretty girls”. Dude, seriously, get a life.

Outreach: Websites, photo pages, photo sites, business cards, word of mouth. I feel I ought to dedicate more time, but can’t. Too busy launching a company.

Medium: Photography. Everything else is not immediate enough.

Why here tho? I’m stupid

Life: James (and Annette) I am totally in awe and humbled by your tenacity, your drive and your commitment to the arts. Totally.
