Background: Art is something that’s been with me since childhood. I just alternate mediums and concepts depending on my inspiration.
Tour: I have many, mostly positive experiences from shows and even the not so positive have proven useful lessons for growth.
Career: D) all of the above.
Art is one part of who I am.
My idea of a successful career as an artist has evolved over the years.
I feel well-balanced when I’m able to attain transcendent goals, when I can activate my right-brain and left-brain skills, have diverse resources and success.
I’m fortunate to be able to pursue various paths simultaneously.
Part of my idea of success as an artist is being able to support others as well as support causes I’m passionate about.
Another part of success as an artist for me is being able to maintain the flexibility to pause and change direction as needed and as desired.
I’m fortunate, grateful and optimistic about my path.
Inspiration: What I create is innate.
I have to do it- for the process, to get it out, to explore etc
However, I am conscious of what I exhibit.
While I deeply respect those who exhibit work provoking sadness or angst and I connect with their work, I do my best to exhibit creations that feel like tiny slices of paradise.
I hope the viewer can take in my work and feel as though they’re in a safe space, can take in a deep breath and exhale surrounded by peace, sensuality and spirituality if they’re so inclined.
Outreach: I haven’t been marketing my work as much as I could and should.
Medium: Underwater photography is my favorite photography- the process is therapeutic.
I love painting and illustration- creating something from my mind or just going with the flow.
And I love bodypainting and shibari- I love creating with the human form as my canvas.
Why here tho? I was born here and I love the ocean, weather and palm trees. I enjoy being around different cultures and having access to latin foods so I can make meals I grew up with.
Favorites: Frida Kahlo- her pain, defiance and strength
Leonardo da Vinci- mixing art, science & math
Many other artists and some include living underexposed artists
Suggestions: While you figure out why you want to be an artist, just do what you love. Hone your technique and do what you love.
Life: Of course.
A safe space for artists to grow.
A group of forward-thinking genuine and generous people continuously looking for ways to make things better for the community and the world at large.
