Do you make a career out of or hope to make a career out of art, or is it a sideline for you?
Not a sideline. Art fills me, i cant imagine doing anything else than photography once i graduate. I want to earn a living as an artist.

What is it about your work that makes it speak to people or to the community at large?
With each of my images i try to tell a story. I photograph children having fun in their everyday, and then translate their imagination into images, letting the viewer see the world through the children’s eyes.

How do you let people know about your work and your shows?
Facebook is my go-to social media.

What do you feel inspires you to make art in the particular medium you have chosen?
The possibility to create art by capturing everyday’s moments in pictures. And the fact that photographers write history with their images as pictures communicate emotions, mood and document events that occurred in the past.

Why Miami?
Miami, just as New York, is a city of art; only warmer and more tropical. Which makes it perfect for me.

Do you have a favorite artist from the past or present?
Katie Andelman
Ashlyn Mae
Sandra Bianco
Lisa Holloway
Elena Shumilova
Tara Lesher
Meg Bitton
So many amazing artists that inspire me everyday! These photographers are magnificent behind the camera. They create art out of their images and tell a story, with each one of them.

If someone wanted to get into being an artist, what would be your first suggestion to them?
Dont be afraid to make mistakes, its how we learn best. Everyone was a beginner some time so dont be afraid to try. And never compare your work with somebody else’s. Everyone is at their own different level.

Testimonial: Life is Art does a magnificent labor at promoting Miami’s art and artists by organizing events, exhibitions, fairs, etc. They also teach workshops providing artists with information in order to help them create art commerce.
