SOLO ART MIAMI PRESENTED BY MEDICA HEALTHCARE PLANS SEEKS ARTISTS
The inaugural SOLO Art Miami art fair, presented by Medica HealthCare Plans, which will be held November 19-21, at the Miami Airport Convention Center, is now inviting artists to apply for participation in this year’s event.
The deadline for artists to apply is September 15. Individual artists and galleries may submit their work in the following mediums clay, watercolor, sculpture, painting, photography, jewelry and metalwork, fiber, mixed media, print making and drawing, glass and wood.
Artists must submit a CD ROM with 5 JPEG images of the work to be presented attached with their application and artist curriculum vitae or a total of five (5) 4†X 6†photographs highlighting their work. Four images must represent the type of work which will be displayed and sold. The fifth image must show the booth display with work visible. If a booth image is not available, then a grouping of works representative of the works to be exhibited at the show may be submitted. A booth image is required for the application to be judged.
“The artist community has embraced our concept of presenting an art fair that highlights the work of the independent artist,†said Gilda Sacasas, executive director of SOLO Art Miami and herself a noted local contemporary artist. “We feel the timing of SOLO Art Miami just before the holidays will undoubtedly motivate buyers and collectors to attend.â€
Artists can visit the SOLO Art Miami web site at www.SOLOartmiami.com to obtain an application.
SOLO Art Miami, presented by Medica HealthCare Plans, is being organized by SOLO Art Group, LLC. Gilda Sacasas, the group’s executive director, was one of the founders of Carnaval on the Mile, a three-day event with 100 participating artists and an attendance estimated at 200,000.
