Miami-Dade Art in Public Places Announces Two Calls to Artists – Deadline May 22, 2009

Miami-Dade Art in Public Places is pleased to announce two new Calls to Artists!
Project: Arts and Culture Center of Aventura

Budget: $80,000
Location: Terminus of NE 188th Street
Deadline: May 22, 2009
Eligibility: Open Call to all professional artists residing in South Florida.
The City of Aventura and Miami-Dade Department of Cultural Affairs through its Art in Public Places Program request qualifications from professional artists to design an interior terrazzo floor for the Arts and Culture Center of Aventura.

Project: Arcola City Police Station and Community Center

Budget: $362,000
Location: NW 7th Avenue and 183rd Street, Miami, Florida.
Deadline: May 22, 2009
Eligibility: Open Call to all professional artists residing in Florida.
The Miami-Dade Police Department (MDPD) and Miami-Dade Department of Cultural Affairs through its Art in Public Places Program request qualifications from professional artists to create an exterior paving design and interior art component for the Arcola Police Station and Community Center. The selected artist will develop a creative response to the latest policing philosophies and practices of the MDPD.
