At each event we feature several south Florida artists, and encourage socializing and networking. A wonderful way to expand your connections in the art scene. In addition, a portion of the proceeds goes to support the arts in south Florida.

My new work is an exploration of the notion that I am so small compared to the reactions occurring on an unfathomably large scale in an infinite amount of space. I think about the fact that my body hosts a microcosm of organisms that do not know any more about me than I do about the universe I live in. More amazing to me still is that my body is in fact made up of particles that behave in ways eerily similar to masses deep in space. I am the universe, I am one person, and I am infinitely small.

“My deep love of South Florida’s lush tropical vegetation has encouraged me to use watercolors to translate their exquisite beauty to paper, so that it can be shared with everyone wherever they may live. In my attempts over the last few years to render the likeness of these plants into a visual art, I have become mesmerized by their subtle transformations in the ever changing tropical lights and water reflections. In botanical art the use of watercolors applied with very small brushes and a dry technique can be challenging and very frustrating, but at the same time the resulting fine details and depth of color are both rewarding and therapeutic.â€

Since moving to Miami in 2000, GusColors has embraced the energetic and vibrant culture surrounding him, and sees this extravagant lifestyle through different eyes. “I dream in paint. My subconscious is actively working, creating from my inner-mind.†His acrylic on canvas work explores a playful yet rambunctious side of everyday life. The use of bright colors and innocent but mischievous characters explode through the surface of each canvas, and enables a fresh point of view. A Splash of GusColors is a glimpse of a unique style, easily recognizable, and allows you to ride through daily life on a magic carpet.
