Life Is Art / Soul Of Miami is working on two new projects, each of a larger scale, in order to expand the postive changemaking we are creating in Miami. 1) MACCFest is planned to be an annual music, art and community festival, celebrating all that is awesome in Miami. It is scheduled to debut in November of 2015 at the Miami Marine Stadium. 2) In The Loop 305 is an emergent accelerator program for creative economy businesses. It will provide support to creative social entrepreneurs through education, promotion, and investment and is planned to expand throughout 2015. Both the Knight Foundation and the Miami Foundation have shown significant interest in bringing this program to Miami.

On November 1, 2014, we are hosting a kickoff event for both programs at the Miami Marine Stadium (in the parking lot). We are also partnering with the GMCVB to be the kick off of Miami Live Month, part of their monthly Temptations program. The GMCVB has committed their marketing power to us for this show.

This is the first live music and art event open to the public at the historic Miami Marine Stadium grounds in over two decades! The kickoff party is an evening of live music, art and creative collaboration, featuring some of the top local bands and artists. KICK OFF PARTY – November 1, 2014
On November 1st, Life Is Art, in association with Soul Of Miami, the Greater Miami Convention and Visitors Bureau and Friends of Miami Marine Stadium bring you the first public live music and art event at the Miami Marine Stadium premises in over two decades! Life Is Art is hosting an opening for the GMCVB Miami Live Month, with an evening of live music, live art, live performance, food trucks, and more, featuring some of the best local bands and artists, supporting Miami’s exploding live entertainment scene.

We are also celebrating the upcoming renovation of the The Miami Marine Stadium, which serves as a glorious backdrop and a reminder of Miami’s colorful history and a hope for the future. If all of that is not enough excitement, the event features a big announcement for Life Is Art’s two major new projects, MACCFest and InTheLoop305.

FRIENDS OF MIAMI MARINE STADIUM
The Miami Marine Stadium is coming back! Organized in February 2008 to seek restoration of the Miami Marine Stadium, the all volunteer group was organized under the administrative umbrella of Dade Heritage Trust, Miami Dade County’s foremost organization devoted to historic preservation. The purpose is the restoration and return to operation of Miami Marine Stadium and have it operated in the public interest.

The Marine Stadium has been named to the National Trust for Historic Preservation’s “11 Most Endangered Historic Places”. The City of Miami Historic and Environmental Preservation Board gave historic designation to the Marine Stadium. Gloria Estefan is the “voice” of Miami Marine Stadium and leads the Advocacy campaign, and Jimmy Buffet has given his support, as well.

GMCVB MIAMI LIVE MONTH
Celebrating Miami’s live entertainment scene, November is designated as Live Month, part of the
“Temptations” program which is designed to introduce locals to all that is available in their city. From concerts and dance performances to comedy shows and poetry readings, live entertainment in all corners of Miami and the Beaches springs to life this season.

MACCFEST
M.A.C.C.Fest is a large-scale outdoor festival set to debut in November of 2015 featuring a full day of Music, Art, Culture and Community. A celebration of all things awesome in South Florida, MACCFest includes local and international live music, visual and performing arts, technology, health, fashion, environment, community and family fun.

IN THE LOOP 305
In The Loop 305 is an emergent space seeking to revolutionize our city’s creative economy. Building on the amazing work already happening throughout the city, In The Loop 305 will advocate for new talent and businesses, curate an events calendar that helps reduce silos and push Miami to be a hub for collaboration, innovation and culture.
