The Falls, one of the largest open-air shopping, dining and entertainment complexes in the United States, is inviting all artists to participate in “Art by Nature,†a juried art exhibition that will offer a way for artists to showcase their talents by completing nature-inspired works of art. In collaboration with the University of Miami’s College of Arts and Sciences, this significant effort will celebrate nature, shedding light on the importance of conserving and protecting our natural resources and environment.
Artists will submit sketches of proposed sculptures, figures and monuments created with materials that can be exposed to the weather elements such as aluminum, glass, plastic bottles, tires and more, to celebrate nature and depict how recycling is one of the best ways to have a positive impact on the world. Artists can submit their art that relates to animals, landscapes and eco-inspired art that utilizes recyclable materials. A selection committee will choose the artists who will display their nature-inspired art. The submission deadline for artists is Fri., March 25, 2011 at 5 p.m.
“The Falls, with its lush landscaped environment, is the perfect backdrop to showcase works of art that will inspire us all to do our part to save the planet,†said Dailen Rodriguez, director of mall marketing and business development at The Falls. “This effort exemplifies our commitment to the Miami community and allows us to further advance our go-green initiatives.â€
