Artists Invited To Create One-Of-A-Kind Alligator Sculptures As Part Of Sawgrass Mills’ “Gator Glam†Presented By Billie Swamp Safari
Premier art exhibition to be held in honor of Sawgrass Mills’ 20th Anniversary
Sawgrass Mills, one of the world’s most popular shopping destinations and the largest outlet, value retail and entertainment center in the United States, and Art and Culture Center of Hollywood are inviting artists to participate in “Gator Glam†presented by Billie Swamp Safari. This juried art exhibition of 7-foot-tall freestanding whimsical alligator sculptures will rebrand the original Sawgrass Mills logo, which incorporated an alligator figure, and will also showcase the artistic talents of a host of contemporary artists in honor of Sawgrass Mills’ 20th anniversary this October.

Artists will submit sketches of their design concept that will transform each fiberglass alligator into a work of art, giving each figure its own unique identity in an array of palettes. A selection committee will choose a minimum of 20 participating artists who will display their creations at The Colonnade Outlets at Sawgrass Mills. The submission deadline for artists is Fri., July 16.

An auction event will take place on Thurs., Oct. 7, 2010 and benefit The Art and Culture Center of Hollywood.
