MUSEUM OF SCIENCE & INDUSTRY ARC GALLERY
DEADLINE: APRIL 19, 2010
Tampa, FL, March 25, 2010- Museum of Science & Industry announces a call to all visual artists for EarthVisions Art Exhibition. EarthVisions is the first national Juried Art Exhibition featured at MOSI Arc Gallery, celebrating the 40th Anniversary of Earth Day 2010. The concept of Visions includes: a vivid mental image produced by the imagination; foresight, future goals or aspiration; a person or thing of extraordinary beauty. Artworks should explore any of these concepts as they relate to Earth. The exhibition is curated by Zarth Bertsch, Director, IMAX Dome Theatre, and Ofra Friedman, award winning sculptor, and will feature all media art, including painting, sculpture, photography, installation and video art.
MOSI is the proud winner of the 2009 National Medal for Museums by the Institute of Museum and Library Services, the nation’s highest honor for museums. MOSI has hosted several blockbuster exhibitions such as Titanic: The Artifact Exhibition, BODIES The Exhibition, and Body Worlds and The Story of The Heart. The current special exhibition at the museum is Da Vinci- The Genius featuring the Secrets of the Mona Lisa on view now through May 31, 2010. The Arc gallery surrounds the MOSI IMAX Theatre.
Exhibition dates: April 30- May 28, 2010.
Deadline: The deadline for submissions is April 19, 2010.
Entry fee: $25 for 2 images. $5 each additional image.
Students: $20 for 2 images. $5 each additional image.
