The Business of Art Licensing – A Workshop For Artists

and again at GroveHouse Artists Gallery in Coconut Grove, FL on Wednesday, September 15, 2010.
This is the introductory workshop for a Series of Presentations on The Business of Art Licensing for Artists. This workshop is designed to present basic information on art licensing so that artists can determine if this is a business they would like to learn more about and if so, to begin the process of creating their own portfolios of art for licensing.
The workshops will run from 7:00 to 9:00 pm and will cover the basics of art licensing as outlined below:
Â· what is art licensing
Â· how to determine if your art is right for licensing
Â· creating an art licensing portfolio
Â· what businesses/industries license art (licensees)
Â· how to find & connect with art licensees
Â· agent or self-representation – which option is best for you?
Â· top trade shows for the art licensing business
Â· the importance of legal contracts
Â· art licensing royalties (money you earn from licensing your art)
Â· how long will it take to earn a living from licensing your art
Â· materials and handouts will be provided for additional information and resources
Advance registration is recommended due to limited seating at each location.
