Dear Friend of Life Is Art,
My goodness, what a busy year it has been so far! We produced eleven events in just the first five months this year. We had several seminars, some happy hour showcases, a mall show and even our biggest event ever all the way up in Boca Raton. We have been working very hard to fulfill our mission of supporting and promoting the arts in south Florida.
To do that, we have had the support of many people and I would like to give some shout outs to those that made this possible. Bridges Aderhold at GAB Studio provided a home for several seminars. Artway66, MANO Fine Art and Sol Gallery at CANDO all also hosted seminars. Reed V. Horth, Julia K. Wakefield, Greg Pitts, John Peter Mahoney, Faudlin Pierre and William Pena Wells all donated their time as speakers for the seminars.
Bar 721, The Surfcomber and Maitardi hosted fun River Of Art happy hour showcases, giving us a chance to show numerous artists and raise a bit of money for the organization. Galleria Mall in Fort Lauderdale gave us space for a bigger show and the Shops at Boca Center provided the venue for our largest event, yet.
Everyone we have worked with has been amazing, professional and interested in supporting the arts. I highly recommend working with them, if you are so inclined. We want to thank them so much for helping us out and supporting the mission. We have been very surprised and impressed by the number of people who have come forward to offer their help without any solicitation.
From the time we started back at the beginning of 2009, we have produced nearly 40 events. For those that have not heard, just recently, we received our certification of charitable 501(c)3 status. This is an important step because it means we can apply for grants to allow us to do even more. As soon as we have time, of course.
And now, we are continuing to move on and grow. On June 18th, we are hosting a really fun party to raise some funds to do more future events. An evening filled with art, music, fashion, performance, and even complimentary beverages, all for only $10 (in advance, $20 at the door). Not only is this a great deal, the money goes for a good cause. Join us, bring your friends, enjoy the party, and help us help you. Buy your tickets now for only $10 at http://lifeisartfest.org/?p=5440
We have a LOT of great and new ideas for the arts in south Florida and you can help make it happen by just coming and having fun!
If you would like to become more involved in transforming our community, and are interested in offering your time, talent, resources or venue to help us make it happen, please let me know. We are always looking for new opportunities, new partners, and of course, more help.
Most importantly, we would like to offer a BIG thank you to you, our friends, fans and supporters. Your belief in us and in our mission makes all of this possible.
One last thing; please remember to tell all your friends. I am very serious when I say, the more people who know, the more people we can help.
Very best regards,
James Echols and the Life Is Art team
