SeminArt: Contracts for Artists: Get it in Writing
Wednesday, July 21st / 6:30-7:30pm
Dorsch Gallery
151 NW 24th Street
Miami, FL 33127

Featuring attorneys Kathleen C. Carignan, Esquire, Executive Director, LegalArt and Brian Heller, Esquire, Senior Vice President, Business and Legal Affairs, Ladenburg Thalmann and Vice Chairman, LegalArt Board of Directors

This SeminArt is an introduction to basic contracts for artists. Kathleen Carignan and Brian Heller will outline common types of contracts professional artists use to protect and sustain their careers: gallery, commission, licensing, sale and work for hire. They will also discuss the difference between written and oral contracts. The presenters will also provide information on how to handle contract disputes and what to do when you want to terminate a contract. You will leave the SeminArt with better knowledge of the steps to take to avoid problems and to understand what contracts you are signing.

Kathleen and Brian will be available for specific questions at the end of the program. Stick around to meet other artists and community members, LegalArt SeminArts are great networking opportunities!
