So, here is an interesting call. You don’t see many calls for curators. But our friends at Supermarket are indeed looking for freelance curators to produce shows at a large venue that they represent. I have been there and can say it is a very nice place with a big interior and a great yard. And Supermarket is a very good organization, from my experience. Supermarket Creative is seeking curators for one of its gallery client’s “guest curator series.†We are looking for experienced curators to organize 3 projects per year. Curators will select works for special temporary exhibitions. Seeking curators in the following particular art forms: sculpture, painting, antique furniture, film and photography.
Curator activities my include:
Planning, organizing and presenting exhibitions
Caring for the collection
Talking to individuals and groups and exhibits
Dealing with inquiries from clients
Networking with art gallery professionals and outside agencies
Plannin financial budget for exhibit
Organize educational and public outreach programs
Tours, workshops, and lectures to publicize the collection
