Life Is Art CALL FOR ARTISTS – River Of Art at Venture Cafe Miami

Life Is Art is excited to announce that we have joined with the immensely popular Venture Cafe Miami to expand the audience for local art and artists. Third Thursdays of the month, Life Is Art will host a River Of Art Show at the Venture Cafe Miami #ThursdayGathering.

Most shows will have a theme, sometimes tied to what else is happening at the gathering, sometimes generated from the artist. Themes may be social, personal, cultural, or an any number of other genres. Shows will feature 10+ artworks, depending on size. Art may be of 2D or 3D format. Other formats may be accepted depending on compatibility.

Each show includes an artist discussion group, but something different than the norm (you know how we are). The talks will focus on the subject matter evoked by your work. Talks will include a facilitator and may include other professionals to expand upon the subject. These discussions are designed to be participatory, to bring out the concepts from attendees engendered through your art.

The shows run from 4:00pm to 9:00pm and artists are required to be there the full time. Set up starts at 3:00pm. We expect artists to be prompt for set up so as to not stress out the organizers (that’s us). The artist discussion happens at 6:30pm in the Altamira room. Artists must bring proper labeling for each piece (we will supply you with a template to use).

Art will be displayed prominently on the first and sixth floors within the Lobby and Cafe space. Life Is Art will provide easels, if needed. Artists may bring their own easels, if they prefer Electricity is available for some pieces (not all). You will be in charge of setting up your own work. If you are interested in doing additional interactive activities within the show space, please let us know, and we will try to make accommodations.

PLEASE NOTE: Detailed information regarding set up will be sent if you are chosen. We will not be contacting those not chosen. We do keep applications on hand for future shows. Your application is good for the entire season of 2020. Please do not submit multiple applications.
