A special opportunity…
The Frost Art Museum is currently seeking volunteers interested in art education for its museum docent program and volunteers in all areas of The Museum. Volunteers are the heart and soul of The Frost Art Museum; they enable The Museum to engage our diverse visitors in exciting and enriching programs, creating memorable learning experiences.
Volunteers should enjoy interacting with the public but if you prefer to work behind the scenes – we have many other opportunities for you.
Your commitment ranges from six months to two years. It’s up to you!
When: September 9th, 2009 at 10 am
Training will take place once a week on Mondays, from 10 am to 12 pm for individuals interested in becoming docents or gallery instructors.
Where: Orientation, training and materials will be provided at The Frost Art Museum.
Benefits: You will participate in university level courses offered by our outstanding dedicated faculty. Some of the benefits include, attending all Museum events, guest passes to art events, lectures, films, Target Wednesdays After Hours, special exhibitions, meeting the artist and interacting with a dynamic and diverse public.

The Frost Art Museum opened its current 46,000-square-foot state of the art building in November 2008. Over 19,000 people have visited The Museum in its new building since its opening. Admission to The Museum is always free.The Frost is an AAM accredited museum and Smithsonian affiliate. The Museum is located at 10975 sw 17th St. across from the Blue garage and adjacent to the Wertheim Performing Arts Center on the University Park campus. Hours of operation are Tuesday through Saturday 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. and Sunday noon – 5 p.m. The Frost is closed on Mondays and most legal holidays.
