Susan Caraballo is an independent arts consultant, who has worked with over 100 arts organizations and individual artists, primarily in the South Florida area, for over 10 years. She has served as a panelist on numerous grant panels including Miami-Dade County Department of Cultural Affairs, State of Florida Division Cultural Affairs, Ohio Arts Council and Miami Light Project’s Here & Now Festival.

This hands-on workshop on how to write an effective and persuasive artist statement, will take you through the different uses of an artist statement, giving your “elevator pitch,†and even prepare you for an interview.

Demystifying the Art of Proposal Writing

Whether you are in the midst of a proposal and want feedback or you want to delve into writing proposals for your projects, this workshop will provide a hands-on approach to the process. Through a combination of writing exercises, discussions, and a mock panel, you will gain first-hand experience in the grant writing and grant making process.
Workshop is limited to 20 participants. Participants are asked to fill out a mock application before the workshop. The application will be emailed to you at the time of registration. Applications will be peer reviewed by participants and the winning applicant will receive a oneyear membership to MAM and LegalArt.
