Do You Love Music and Art? Do You Love Being Involved?
How does your own reserved and covered seat right next to the main stage and the beer booth sound?
If that sounds good, we have the volunteer opportunity for you!
The Virginia Key GrassRoots Festival of Music, Art & Dance is coming February 20-23, 2014 and we have some volunteer opportunities to watch over the Art Booth. This is a very exciting festival, now in its third year. It includes over 40 bands and many other activities for all ages.
The art process is fairly simple. Artists will be painting live on or near the stages. Those art pieces will be auctioned off via silent & live auction, with 50% of it going to the artist and 50% donated to Life Is Art.
The Art Booth is located in a prime location, near the Meadow Stage and Beer Booth! See Map. You will be provided chairs and be under a tent, pretty much the best seats in the house! Plus, you can earn tickets by volunteering. See volunteer rewards. Just 4 hours of volunteering earns you a free day pass.
Your responsibilities will be to watch over the art so it does not get stolen or damaged, make sure the auction sheets are attached to the correct art pieces, answer questions from the patrons and assist the artists, if they need it. You will be provided everything necessary, including information about the artists, about Life Is Art and about YOMiami, who is organizing the art. The first shift of each day will set up the banners and easels. The last shift of each day will take down and store the banners and easels. You will be given instructions on the procedure for that. The earlier shifts are probably going to be less busy. Please arrive 15 minutes early for your shift. For this purpose, all volunteers must be over 21 years of age.
Volunteer shifts:
Thursday 4:00pm-8:00pm, Thursday 8:00pm-12:00am
Friday 12:00pm-4:00pm, Friday 4:00pm-8:00pm, Friday 8:00pm-12:00am
