Life Is Art 2011 – A Look Back

Life Is Art 2011 – A Look Back

Greetings Life Is Art Fan!

Happy Holidays and best wishes for the new year!

As we ramp up for 2012, I just wanted to take a few minutes to look back at 2011 and before to see where we have been. This has been a very busy year for Life Is Art! I just counted and we produced, co-produced or participated in 22 events this year. No wonder I’m so tired!

We did five of our Creative Connections seminars, providing important business and marketing education for artists. We hosted five River Of Art showcases, providing a nice opportunity for artists to be seen by new patrons. We produced our biggest show yet, way up in Boca, which had mixed results, but actually resulted in some significant art sales.

Our big fundraising party got a little wet, but still helped us raise a few dollars to put toward our mission. We did a few other fundraising events which also helped to fund our activities.

On the other hand, participating in others’ shows is always dicey, and this year we had a couple of those that did not turn out as well as we had hoped. But, it still seems like a good idea to try.

Then, we went into Art Basel season. Our decision to join up with the Multiversal Art Group and More Than Art Group turned out to be a very good idea. These two young organizations are filled with passionate and hard-working people, and we were very happy with the results. So much better than trying to go it alone.

All in all quite the year. Looking all the way back since our inception in January of 2009, we have produced or participated in fifty-one (51) events. Fifty-one. In just three years. Who does that? We have shown hundreds of artists to thousands of new patrons. We have built community, made new friendships and helped people find many new partners. We have provided much needed business and marketing know-how for many artists. We are just getting started. We started small, but we are planning bigger and better events in the future.

As the year comes to a close, we ask you just one small favor. If you have benefited from our work, if you have enjoyed any of our events, if you have found any new wonderful artwork or made any new friends because of our efforts, we ask that you leave us a short testimonial. No money. No work. Just a quick comment- lifeisartfest.org/testimonials Click the link- lifeisartfest.org/testimonials and leave a short comment. I know it sounds silly, but it really does help. It helps us get sponsors and grants to make our future events that much bigger and better.

Plus, it seriously does keep us doing what we do. It makes all the sleepless nights, skinned knees, mental breakdowns and missed holidays worthwhile. So, if you can just take a minute, we would really appreciate it lifeisartfest.org/testimonials.

Soon, we will have announcements for the beginning of 2012. We are very excited about it! Oh yeah, and one more thing, be sure to tell all your friends because the more people who know, the more people we can help.

Best wishes for the new year to you and yours from myself and all the crew at Life Is Art.

Sincerely,
James Echols
